Festival off d’Avigno

Around the ‘In festival’, a more spontaneous theatric form has been developed: the ‘Off festival’. This festival takes place at around one hundred spots in Avignon. Some of the artists who are performing at the ’In festival’ promote their show at the ‘Off festival’ and you can find them on almost every corner of the street.

If you are a bit lucky, these (group of) artists might perform right next to your table while you are having a drink on a terrace. Not only professionals give their best at the ‘Off’’ but also amateur artists grab their chance to show their artistic talent. The ‘Off’, alternative festival has become an indisputable reality in the national cultural landscape. It is one of the biggest festivals of independent companies when you look at the cultural richness and diversity it brings. It is also, according to the public, the real cradle of artistic creation in France.
